When the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman was introduced in 1956, there was nothing like it, and there is still nothing to equal it. Charles and Ray’s modern take on a 19th century club chair has not only endured for decades, it has become one of the most significant furniture designs of the 20th century — instantly recognizable and enduringly fresh. As comfortable as it is beautiful, this timeless design will be loved for generations. The Lounge Chair, also known as the 670, provides luxurious, long lasting comfort via its signature reclined positioning, superior pivoting, ample padding and contouring, and a shape that flexes to fit each user. As Charles Eames himself once put it, this chair has, “the warm, receptive look of a well-used first baseman’s mitt.”
All chairs are supported by a five-pointed die-cast aluminum base with a built-in swivel mechanism. The matching ottomans have an identical but four-pointed base. The shock mounts are made from a resilient natural rubber and the stainless steel glides are fully adjustable.

We are proud to introduce a new milestone in the rich Eames Lounge Chair history with the introduction of an Advanced Plant-Based Material. This bamboo-based upholstery helps reduce the materials carbon footprint of the chair by up to 35% while still providing superior comfort and durability.
Maharam’s Prone Leather line in a stunning array of new colors the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman can now be customized to meet a variety of color schemes. Sourced in Italy, Maharam’s collection forgoes the excessive finishing that characterizes much of the leather available today and instead centers on superior raw materials and the unique surfaces brought forth as a result of minimal processing. This lightweight and durable material is comprised of 100% natural leather with a protective silicone topcoat making it as luxurious as it is practical. If you’re not impressed by the leather, try the Mohair Supreme lining also crafted by Maharam. This velvety fabric is available in five colors and provides a soft, cozy feel that hugs the creases and folds of the chair’s padding just as Charles & Ray intended.
In addition to new colors, we have expanded our collection with a new White Oak plywood shell. Starting at $5,995, this shell is a more sustainable alternative to the White Ash shell. Native to North America these beautiful hardwood trees are beloved for their durability and unique ray-and-fleck patterning. From the White Oak to the Oiled Palisander finish, we’ve designed our chair to fit any budget — without forsaking the quality we aspire to.
Classic size is 32.75″ x 32.75″ x 31.5″, Tall size is 34.5″ x 32.75″ x 33.5″, Ottoman is 21.5″ x 26″ x 17.25″. Each Eames® Lounge Chair and Ottoman is custom made and therefore considered non-returnable.
